The Simternship

Image
I successfully finished all 12 rounds in the Stukent Simternship, a semester-long simulation that immerses students in a realistic working environment. This experience allowed me to gain valuable skills in marketing and expand my knowledge of the social media field. Throughout the Simternship, I engaged in various types of social media posts, including organic posts, paid posts and influencer posts. I carefully analyzed the analytics for each post and considered the company's feedback in order to effectively manage the social media accounts for Buhi, a company that specializes in selling bags of all kinds. As students, we had the opportunity to promote these products through a series of posts and collaborate with influencers to increase brand awareness, reach, conversions, likes, followers and more. I used the feedback from each round of posts to improve and refine my strategies for the next rounds. This feedback encompassed the optimal posting times, content quality, revenue

Thanksgiving Break!

Image
During my Thanksgiving break, I had a fantastic and rejuvenating time filled with delicious food and joyful laughter! I truly cherished the relaxing and eventful moments spent with my loved ones, as we celebrated our gratitude for being able to spend quality time together. To kick off the break, I took some time to unwind from the busy semester and caught up with my parents and sister, sharing the latest news from the Zindars household. The highlight of it all was reuniting with my adorable dogs, Alfie and Finn, who are both Aussiedoodles - a delightful mix of an Australian Shepherd and Poodle. Being back home felt incredibly comforting and gave me a glimpse of the upcoming long Christmas break. The day after I arrived home, my family and I participated in a meaningful activity called Make A Difference Day, where we dedicated a few hours to cleaning up the yard for someone in need. We worked together to rake leaves, pull weeds, trim trees and spruce up their flower bed. In the end, we

Social Media Marketing Campaigns

I've just finished all twelve chapters in the Stukent book, which are crucial for our studies. However, I've gone ahead of the syllabus and there isn't a specific chapter for me to focus on this week. Nevertheless, I'm eager to delve into additional information that isn't covered in our curriculum. That's why I've decided to move on to the next chapter, which is a look into Social Media Marketing Campaigns. This particular chapter has captured my interest because I've been focusing on social media campaigns in my design classes, as you can read about in my previous blog post. The design projects I've worked on related to social media campaigns include Artists Against Hunger, the Tap Project, First World Problems and a few smaller ones. Through these projects, I've created designs to promote the campaigns and ensure their success through events, social media exposure and community awareness. While my main focus has been on the design process,

Bring it on Before Thanksgiving Break!

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and the workload is becoming overwhelming, as are the illnesses. After finishing my cross country season, my body has decided to succumb to sickness as it winds down and the workload increases. I am relieved to have a short break from running so that I can solely focus on the projects and papers that are piling up. However, I encountered a setback when I caught a sinus infection last week. Instead of catching up on homework, I was confined to bed for three consecutive days, battling the aches and pains and going through tissue boxes like crazy. It's interesting how just when you finally have the opportunity to accomplish things without juggling too much, something comes along and hinders your progress. Despite the frustration, I managed to quickly clear up the sinus infection by visiting the health center and taking medication. I am looking forward to making progress and completing the tasks for this week before the Thanksgiving brea

Chapter 11: Marketing with TikTok

Image
This week, I explored the marketing world of TikTok, a video sharing social media platform. TikTok, owned by the Chinese company ByteDance and merged with Musical.ly in 2018, has become a global sensation and is currently the third most-downloaded app worldwide. However, TikTok has evolved beyond being just an entertainment platform and has become a cultural force that has revolutionized the way we consume media and connect with others. Users have the freedom to express themselves in various ways on this platform. Initially, TikTok gained popularity due to its ability to allow users to create dancing, singing and lip syncing videos, which contributed to its rapid growth. The content on TikTok has now diversified, depending on the types of videos a person interacts with, resulting in a personalized "For You Page" that offers tailored content. As a consumer of TikTok content, I find myself spending hours scrolling through the platform, watching hair tutorials, keeping up with t

ONU Men’s Soccer OAC Champions

This past weekend, my roommates and I embarked on an exciting journey to Westerville, the vibrant home of Otterbein University. Our mission? To witness the thrilling OAC Championship match between the Ohio Northern Men's Soccer Team and Otterbein Men’s Soccer Team. We were all filled with anticipation, knowing that these two teams are fierce rivals both on and off the field. With Ohio Northern boasting a solid record of 12-5-3 overall and Otterbein with a record of 12-3-4 overall, we knew this match was bound to be a close one. Despite Otterbein's status as regular season champs, the absence of two of their top players and our ONU team's hunger for victory set the stage for an intense battle. As the girlfriend of one of the players and with many of my friends also on the team, I was ready to cheer my heart out. The Otterbein fans brought a spirited crowd, but our ONU section was not to be outdone, responding with passionate chants of our own.      The Polar Bears

Chapter 10: Marketing with YouTube

Image
In this week's chapter, we delve into the captivating world of YouTube - the ultimate hub for online video sharing. As the unrivaled leader in its domain, YouTube has become a global sensation, attracting millions of visitors each day. Within its virtual walls, YouTube offers an extensive range of videos, catering to diverse interests and needs. Whether you seek educational enlightenment or simply crave some entertainment, YouTube has you covered. Its vast collection of content spans from informative tutorials to captivating corporate videos, ensuring there's something for everyone. The inception of YouTube was sparked by a pressing need to make video sharing more accessible. In a time when major events were hard to come by online, the founders, Hurley Chen and Karim, recognized the importance of creating a platform that would revolutionize the way we share videos. Thus, in 2005, YouTube was born. YouTube's incredible power lies in its ability to unleash the creative pote
