Chapter 9: Marketing with LinkedIn

This week, I read into Chapter nine focusing on the world’s largest professional network, LinkedIn!

Professionals use this platform to stay connected, informed, apply for jobs and advance their careers. It was established in two thousand two by Reid Hoffman, a Stanford graduate who recognized the need for a platform that empowers individuals to take charge of their professional lives and build valuable business connections.  Since its inception, LinkedIn has grown rapidly and remains the most popular social networking platform for job seekers and business professionals to connect and engage with others. In this chapter, we explored various marketing strategies, LinkedIn pages, components, content and even the platform's response to Covid-19. I will focus on a few of these topics to fully understand the significance of LinkedIn in people's professional lives.

LinkedIn is an expert in marketing strategies. It is used by both men and women and is particularly popular among individuals aged twenty-five to thirty-four. It has a wide reach and is popular in many countries. One reason for its popularity is that it allows professionals to market themselves in their specific job field or use it as a platform for personal branding and networking. This helps brands build strong relationships with employees and customers, showing their commitment to their business. LinkedIn has also become the most trustworthy platform for news, as fake news spreads. This makes brands want to market on LinkedIn even more, as it allows them to provide reliable content and produce educational and relevant information for their consumers. This platform provides crucial marketing strategies that foster genuine connections and offers powerful tools for customer outreach.

In this chapter, I want to highlight a new aspect of LinkedIn that I haven't explored before - LinkedIn Pages. There are various types of LinkedIn Pages that you can create, such as a Company Page, Showcase Page, Product Page and Career page. These pages allow LinkedIn users to effectively showcase their company or business by providing categorized information, making it easier for professionals to find and utilize. A Company Page is the first place users will visit to learn and engage with a company. It showcases the analytics of the business and allows users to receive direct messages, enhancing professional connections. Next, we have the Showcase Page, which are extensions of LinkedIn Company Pages. These pages enable brands to promote specific business lines, products and company initiatives. The Product Page connects a company's products with the professional network, generating leads and helping the business grow. It also allows for customer feedback and includes pictures of the products. Lastly, we discuss the Career Page, which allows companies to highlight job opportunities to potential candidates, attracting top talent. This page makes it easy for businesses to showcase what their company is all about, generating interest from potential employers. Additionally, the Career Page provides insights into its performance and can be used as a benchmark against competitors. Overall, LinkedIn Pages provide great tools for businesses to effectively showcase themselves and connect with professionals.

If you want to improve your professional life or build your brand, LinkedIn is the perfect platform for you. It offers many useful tools and will keep growing in the future. With its influencer community and long-term written content, LinkedIn is an excellent place to connect with potential employers and professionals. It will keep adding more valuable tools and expanding its social features. Don't miss out on the opportunity to give your career a boost - use LinkedIn!
