Fall Break Recap
This weekend was fall break! I left ONU on Friday afternoon to head back to my hometown of Delaware, Ohio. That evening, I spent time with my parents, enjoying a lovely dinner together. I was up bright and early Saturday morning to take senior pictures for a family friend, Drew Nimon. Our families have been close since his older brother, Zach, and my younger sister, Sophia, were in kindergarten. Taking his photos felt like a full-circle moment, allowing me to truly see how much he has grown up.
For the session, we went to the golf course where Drew works to capture some fall shots since he plays golf in high school and will continue in college. The course's fall colors were stunning, and we had a great time. Afterward, we headed to a local park for more photos by the water. The early morning light was perfect, with the sun peeking through the trees to highlight the fall leaves. It was a relaxed shoot, and I enjoyed hearing about Drew’s high school life.
After the shoot, I returned home to relax with my parents before heading to the Nimon's house for a cookout. The food was amazing: brisket, a cheese tray, dips, cheesy potatoes, deviled eggs, fruit, cornbread and more. We spent the evening chatting before I went back home to grab the truck we had packed with my futon. My roommate helped me move it into our place at ONU, where we spent the night so we could get up early Sunday morning for a trip to Cedar Point.
We headed to Cedar Point with my friends, and some soccer guys. Despite the drizzle, delayed rides and strong winds, we had a blast. Everyone was full of energy and ready to ride the coasters. It turned into a late night of driving since we stayed at the park so long, but we stopped for Cane’s on the way home. When we got back, I went straight to bed, exhausted and sore from standing in line all day in wet clothes.
On Monday, my roommate and I returned to our hometown to spend the rest of the break with our families. I worked on some projects and spent the day with my mom and our dogs while my dad was at work. It was nice to relax and catch up. On Tuesday, I voted in the morning before heading back to ONU for an interview call about a potential job after graduation. I was nervous, but the interview went very well. To wrap up fall break, I hung out with my roommates and worked on homework to prepare for the short week of classes.
Overall, fall break was filled with fun, relaxation and productivity. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I hope everyone had a great fall break!
As always, GO BEARS
