Wrapping Up the Semester

It’s hard to believe, but it’s the final week of blogs—which means I am just about finished with my social media minor! How crazy is that? It feels both surreal and incredibly exciting. I can’t believe the fall semester is already coming to a close. This semester has been a whirlwind of emotions, packed with projects, assignments, work commitments and everything in between. Despite the chaos, I feel proud of the effort I’ve put into my work, even during the busiest times.

This week has been a balancing act as I wrap up the final details for my capstone project and submit my binder. Capstone has been such a meaningful and challenging experience for me, and it feels good to see everything come together. In addition, I’ve managed to complete significant portions of two major projects that are due on the Monday of finals week, which feels like a huge weight off my shoulders.

At this point, I’ve completed the bulk of my work for two classes, leaving me with three remaining projects to focus on. One project is due Friday, and the other two have exam time slots on Monday. Thankfully, after that, I won’t have any additional exams or assignments for the remainder of finals week, which is a first for me. Typically, my finals are spread out across the week, so I’ve always had to stay until Friday. This year, I’ll be able to head home earlier than ever, and I’m really looking forward to that break.

As I reflect on this semester, I’m also looking ahead to the spring. My class load will be much lighter next semester, with only five classes—something I’ve only had once during my time at ONU. It’ll be such a welcome change, and I’m hopeful it will give me more time to focus on other opportunities and experiences.

That said, this semester is bittersweet. My roommate and best friend, who came to ONU with me, will be graduating this semester. It’s hard to imagine what life on campus will be like without her, and it will definitely take some adjusting. On top of that, several of my other close friends, who are finishing fifth-year semesters, will also be leaving. While I’m so happy for them, it’s tough to say goodbye to people who’ve been such a huge part of my college experience.

For now, I’m trying to stay focused and productive as I tackle the rest of my to-do list this week. There’s still a lot to finish, including one major project that I haven’t even started yet (thanks to everything else I’ve had to prioritize). Thankfully, I plan to get started on that tomorrow. Fingers crossed that I can power through without too much stress—though I might be jinxing myself with that optimism!

To everyone wrapping up their semester, I hope finals go smoothly for you and that you end the year on a high note.

As always, GO BEARS!

Pretty sunset this week!
